Come along to our Writers X Illustrators Blend, designed to introduce you to different artists and bring your words to life.

Illustrators:

Are you looking to work alongside a writer? Are you hoping to break into cover art or book illustration and need help building a portfolio?
Come along to our Writers X Illustrators Blend to get to know what writers really want to see in the art accompanying their book and maybe find a writer to work alongside to make entirely new work!

Breakdown of the evening's events:

6:30pm Arrive, grab a drink, and settle in
6:45pm Introduction talk
7pm
Writers - head over to Sarah to work on summarising your book and picking out a section of it to share with the illustrators. This can be really helpful for those looking to submit to agents and we'll focus on summaries in this way. We'll split into groups to give a bit of feedback.
Illustrators - head off with Becki to talk about rights for your work and how to build on a story through your illustration.
7:30pm Speed-dating style of chatting about your work and showing/reading examples. Talk to lots of people and make a note of who you might like to partner with!
8:15pm Submit who you would like to work with (annonymously) and then we'll partner everyone up to start creating! We'll talk you all through how this works and writers will have a go at writing from an artists prompt while illustrators will take a writers summary and paragraph and make some designs!
