Hvað er YOGA MOVES?
Yoga Moves er leiddur jógaflæði tími með dansi í nærveru plötusnúðs. Boðið er upp á öndun, hugleiðslu og jógaflæði við seyðandi ambient tónlist sem byggist upp jafnt og þétt. Þegar hámarkinu er náð er stigið út af mottunni og taka þá við skemmtilegar hópeflisæfingar og frjálst dans partý.. Við fáum til okkar helstu plötusnúða Íslands og í danshlutanum er ýmist spilað disco, house, tech house, drum&base eða techno. Tímarnir ganga út á að tengjast sjálfum sér, losa um spennu, hreyfa líkamann á skapandi og taktvissan hátt, fara aðeins út úr þægindarammanum, tengjast öðrum og hafa gaman saman í allsgáðu ástandi. Yoga Moves var stofnað í febrúar árið 2014 af Tómasi Oddi Eiríkssyni og hefur notið mikilla vinsælda síðan. Haldnir hafa verið fjölmargir viðburðir í gegnum árin, víðsvegar um landið og erlendis, t.d á Dansverkstæðinu, Gamla Bíói, Hörpu, Austurvelli, Hofi-Akureyri, Verboten klúbb í NYC, Móment DJ Margeirs á menningarnótt við Klapparstíg og auðvitað Yoga Shala Reykjavík.
BIO: Tómas Oddur Eiríksson líkamsþerapisti er með bakgrunn úr sviðslistum og félagsvísindum og býr yfir 12 ára reynslu sem yoga, dans og hugleiðslu kennari, hefur haldið marga viðburði, námskeið, einkatíma, fyrirlestra og samkomur sem tengjast hreyfingu og andlegri heilsu. Leiðir hann iðkendur inn í líkamlega nútvitund af mikilli innlifun, hlýju, húmor og gleði.
Tómas er lærður mannvistarlandfræðingur, markþjálfi, thai yoga nuddari og hefur lokið viðamikilli menntun í yogakennslufræðum (500+ klst Level 1 & 2 ásamt fjölmörgum vinnustofum og námskeiðum víða um heim). Þá tók Tómas virkan þátt í uppbyggingu Yoga Shala Reykjavík undanfarin ár og er forsprakki Yoga fyrir Stirða Stráka ásamt Yoga Moves sem nú fagnar 10 ára starfsafmæli. Yoga Moves eru viðburðir með leiddu yoga, frjálsum dansi og hugleiðslu með lifandi tónlist og/eða plötusnúð. Tómas fer reglulega í fyrirtækjaheimsóknir með heildrænt hópefli og leiðir yoga og dans á stærri viðburðum eins og Moment á Menningarnótt hjá DJ Margeir.
Tómas hefur einstak lag á að kalla fram það besta í fólki og fá það til að sleppa sér í gleði og dansi. Nýlega lauk Tómas meistaranámi í Dance Movement Pshychotherapy við UAB háskólann í Barcelona sem er skapandi og líkamsmiðuð sálfræðimeðferð.
BIO Agzilla
Rough or smooth, Agzilla spins many styles and faces of the Jungle and Drum & Bass genre. Left-field Techno, House and Bass music has also been finding its way into his record box. Agzilla started DJing in 1989, spinning Hip Hop and experimental Breakbeat material of the likes of the Blapps Posse. His days of Drum & Bass began in 1990 when his attention turned to
the styles of Shut Up and Dance Records. From there on he was among the young heads that pioneered the early underground rave scene in Reykjavik, Iceland.
In 1991 Agzilla met Goldie who was painting murals at a club in Reykjavik. Goldie, Kemi and Jane turned him on to RAGE at Heaven, a Thursday night gig hosted by Grooverider and Fabio
in London. The legendary party marked a turning point for Agzilla. Thor and Biogen were introduced to Goldie by Agzilla the same year. The engineering skills of these young and upcoming bedroom producers resulted in the collaboration between Goldie and Ajax. The AJAX project was released. 1992 Agzilla also released his first track, Rollin Like Scottie - Rufige Kru, with Goldie on Reinforced Records; Enforcers picture plate series no.3.
During the ups and downs of the Hardcore Drum & Bass era, Agzilla has spun at numerous parties and festivals ranging from Björk's annual new years eve parties, with Howie B, Graham
Massey and Mark Farina to festivals with Prodigy, Aphex Twin and the Atari Teenage Riot. Agzilla was eager to spread the soaring sounds and hosted for a few years breakbeat shows at
local and college radio stations. Following the opening of his second record shop ELF 19 in 1996, Agzilla and his business partner President Bongo ( Gus Gus ) organized a weekly Drum &
Bass event under the same name. To the pleasures of many young Icelandic heads, guests such as J Majik, Trace, Ed Rush, Nico, Dj Lee, and Boymerang came to the small but erupted
showdown.
After moving to the States, Agzilla toured with Goldie on his U.S. Timeless tour coast to coast, from September to November 1997.
Agzilla's debut album Cats Can Hear Ultrasound on Metalheadz is a genuine melting pot of contrasting sounds covering a diverse range of BPMs. There are many future projects and remixes in the works, including collaborations with Sinistarr and a host of local Icelandic and international talent.
Agzilla currently runs RVK DNB club nights in Reykjavík and has been playing out at local festivals Sónar Reykjavík, Iceland Airwaves and Secret Solstice. Other Dj gigs amongst his most
recent stops have included, Metalheadz, w/ Ink and Grooverider (London), Reykjavik Music festival, w/ Laurent Garnier, Darren Emerson, Asia Dub Foundation and the Herbalizer
(Iceland), Moby's Chrismas party (NYC), Irving Plaza, Reprezent Live w/ Roni Size, Suv, Krust and Dj Die (NYC Giant Step), The Roxy w/ Goldie and Doc Scott (NYC Giant Step), Jungle
Nation (NYC), Konkrete Jungle (NYC), Prohibited Beatz (NYC), 18th St. Lounge (DC).

What is YOGA MOVES?
Yoga Moves is a guided vinyasa yoga flow class in the presence of a DJ. Classes always start with a few words of inspiration, meditation and breathing. As the yoga reaches climax we step off the matt and move and groove to deep beats and a powerful sound system. Many of Iceland's most respected DJ's play in Yoga Moves on a regular basis. It's all about connecting to the body, letting go of tension, moving and expressing ourselves creatively, stepping out of the comfort zone, connecting to each other and having healthy fun together. Yoga Moves was founded in February 2014 by Tómas Oddur Eiríksson and has been popular in Iceland ever since. Through the years there have been many events at the Reykjavik Dance Atelier, Gamla Bio, Harpa, Austurvöllur main square, Hof-Akureyri, DJ Margeir's Moment on Culture night and of course at Yoga Shala Reykjavík.
