Włodek Pawlik, a jazz pianist and composer, is the only Polish winner of the Grammy Award in jazz, for the album “Night in Calisia” in the Best Large Jazz Ensemble category (2014).His records have reached gold and platinum sales. He is a graduate of Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw (currently University of Music) in the piano class of Barbara Hesse-Bukowska. He also studied at Hochschule für Musik in Hamburg. He is a full professor at F. Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where he teaches improvisation.
The most distinctive feature of his musical style is the unique and original ability to synthesize different genres. He has collaborated with such eminent artists as Randy Brecker, Mike Stern, Arturo Sandoval, Billy Hart, Tom Kennedy, Richie Cole, and Paul Wertico.
He has released 45 records under his name to date. His compositional output includes film soundtracks, orchestral music, the ballet “Flow”, “Via Sancta” opera, and vocal music inspired by many outstanding Polish and internationally acclaimed poets.
He composed music for a musical Irena about life of Irena Sendler, premiered in 2022 at the Musical Theatre in Poznań that met with enthusiastic reception from the audiences and critics.
„Pawlik & Pawlik Duo” album, a recording of a concert at Agnieszka Osiecka Polish Radio Studio, was released in autumn 2023, which proved to be an important impetus for the concert activities of this family project!

Pawlik & Pawlik Duo is a concert project of father (Włodek Pawlik) and son (Łukasz Pawlik) - two generations of a musical family. The core of the repertoire consists of compositions by Włodek Pawlik, Grammy Award winner for his album “Night in Calisia”. In turn, Łukasz Pawlik (winner of the Berlin Jazz & Blues Award), makes himself known as a cellist, and therefore one of the few artists to use this instrument in jazz.
The duo's music defies clear-cut classification. Apart from jazz, it contains elements of world music and highland folklore. Although both musicians are classically trained instrumentalists, their element is improvisation and what is created here and now.

Łukasz Pawlik – multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, prize-winner of Berlin Jazz & Blues Award (2006). Classically trained cellist, but also frequently appearing as a jazz pianist and keyboardist. He also plays the drums and electric bass. Graduate of Robert-Schumann Hoschule in Düsseldorf. He also studied at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo (USA). He is a prize-winner of many cello competitions in Poland, and in the USA. He also gained multiple honors at jazz competitions, including the prestigious Berlin Jazz&Blues Award and Jazz nad Odrą in Wrocław. He has released 2 albums with his original music: „Lonely Journey” and Long-Distance Connections” (Summit Records), recorded with such notable musicians as Mike Stern, Randy Brecker, Dave Weckl, among others.
