Alley Way Learning Skill Sharing Workshop
About this Event

Writing Consciously & Creatively

What you will learn
Writing can be therapeutic, or even an escape. It's a personal thing that mustn't be underestimated. Even if you don't write regularly or dream of being published someday, writing is a worthwhile exercise for connecting with yourself, exploring and discovering.

It doesn't have to be a lonesome practice. In this workshop, we'll do some work in groups, but only if you're comfortable doing so. We will ensure it is a wholesome and safe creative space.

Inspiration can be found in the most unlikely places! No, really. You'd be surprised what a prompt or an out-of-place object can incite in your mind.

FYI: You will not be required to read out anything you write in the workshop. Any sharing will be voluntary, as the pressure to perform can hinder creative expression. If you're happy to share anything you write, however, everyone will celebrate and support you.

Meet your workshop leader

Grace Latter
I am a writer, creator and speaker, among other things. I have been freelancing in the publishing industry for many years and doing creative marketing work for small, local businesses, as well as writing for publications big and small. I love silver jewellery, good coffee, the sunshine, my cat, and picking up pebbles on the beach.
I've written things all my life, and have found it to be a healing personal practice as well as a rewarding and exciting job. I want to show others how it can enrich their everyday lives and maybe (hopefully) get them through some tough times, too.
