About this Event

Christmas is a season when people can come together. While misunderstanding and difference over politics, faith tradition and race can be divisive, the spirit of Christmas and the power of music provide opportunity for us to see past our differences and find common ground and unity.

"Worthy - A Christmas Cantata" is one of the most exciting contemporary African American musical collections of our time.

"Worthy" was written by Chicago recording artist and music educator, Lana Manson and produced by her husband, world-renowned jazz bassist Michael Manson. Each song is a soulful celebration of the extraordinary love that God has demonstrated through the birth of His son, Jesus. The rhythms of this composition are a sharp contrast to traditional classics, but the message of love and redemption as the true meaning of Christmas, remains the same.

Featuring Lana Manson's Chicago Cantata Chorale and vocalists from across the Windy City comprising the Chicago Unity Chorus, this concert offers something for everyone. Singers from diverse ethnic backgrounds and various Christian traditions are coming together to sing praises and share in the spirit of Christmas. All are welcome!

Join us as we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the spirit of Christmas, and raise donations for a great cause - *Habitat for Humanity of Chicago!

*This year's free concert is also a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity of Chicago. Habitat for Humanity is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that helps low-income individuals achieve home ownership through financial literacy, volunteer construction, and low-interest mortgages. This event is produced by Stephen Styles, founder of Styles Inter-Relational Solutions.
