This workshop for female participants is a 3-hour deep dive into stand-up writing idea generation! Taught by Eniko Varga.
About this Event

● Do you tell yourself you’re not funny and you are nervous to do something creative?

● Do you tell yourself you’re very funny and can’t wait to try yourself out in comedy?

Yes? :) Then this 3-hour beginner stand-up workshop for ladies might be just for you :)

First we will do some exercises which help to get in touch with your creativity. Then we will have a brief introduction into standup comedy through brainstorming and writing exercises. We will then look into how to generate ideas beyond mainstream female comedy topics (which are for example dating, body hair, sex, your home country versus where you now live if you’re an expat). I believe we can find the FUN in anything if we look for it and go deep in one topic. You can write a set about a bathroom floor which is difficult to clean, or try to make up jokes building on Buddhist wisdom patterns, there’s so much room for your unique content and point of view!

Throughout the 3 hours we will gradually move from feeling awkward towards laughing and having fun.

By the end of the workshop you will have your first short material ready, which will give you the confidence to keep going and exploring your writing!!!

Eniko is an Amsterdam based comedian. It all started when she accidentally fell in love with improv comedy in a basement in 2015. Along the way she also made other great connections with stand up comedy, sketch and clowning.

Eniko played improv several seasons in Boom Chicago’s Housteams, currently she’s an easylaughs short form cast member. Eniko is a 4 times PowerPints winner and is a regular performer at Funny Women Amsterdam and the Mezrab Alt Comedy Night.
