Workplace Mental Health: Curbing stigma and creating a culture of well-being
Explore the vital realm of workplace mental health in this interdisciplinary course. This continuing education course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to foster a supportive and inclusive workplace environment and promote a well-being culture. Through insightful discussions, real-world case studies, and practical exercises, participants will gain a profound understanding of mental health issues, learn to tackle stigma head-on, and contribute to establishing a resilient and thriving organizational culture.
This course goes beyond theoretical knowledge, emphasizing practical application and personal development to empower participants in actively contributing to a workplace culture that values and prioritizes mental health and well-being.
Key learning objectives include:
- identifying and defining mental health stigmas;
- applying strategies to foster a stigma-free environment;
- developing skills for recognizing behaviors that may indicate mental health concerns in their colleagues, enabling early intervention and support;
- constructing a well-being action plan and evidence-based practices to enhance mental health in the workplace; and
- assessing, comparing, and critiquing the effectiveness of various well-being initiatives, ensuring a depth of understanding in implementing sustainable mental health practices within their organizational context.
CE Course Instructor: Jason Ingram, JD, MA, MSW is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and faculty member of the American College of Mental Health Education with a broad range of social work, HR, compliance, legal, and policy experience in various industries and sectors, including higher education as well as local, state, and federal government. This course is taught from personal, academic, and professional perspectives. A Teachers College Columbia University graduate with a Master of Arts degree in Sociology and Education with a concentration in Education Policy. He also received his Juris Doctor degree from The Catholic University of America and his Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
Target Audience and Course Delivery: This includes, but is not limited to, Psychologists, Social Workers, Counselors, and other mental health professionals. The instructional level of the activity is advanced.
Course Interactivity: All live, interactive webinars involve discussion and chat messaging with the webinar's presenter, as well as questions and answers from and to attendees.
Access to Training: Upon registering for the course, attendees will receive an email that details how to access the CE course. The email will include the unique URL, which means attendees do not have to install software on their computers.
System Requirements: We highly recommend using the latest version of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera or Edge browser. Attendees may perform system configuration test before joining the event room. See registration confirmation email. It enables attendees to check their conference server connection, operating system, browser capability, as well as audio and video output.
Course Delivery and Number of CE Credits: This is a live, in-person CE event. Attendees will receive 3 - 6 CEs, depending on registration. One CE contact hour is equal to 60 minutes of a learning activity. Attendees must participate in all sessions for which they registered and complete a course evaluation. CE certificates will be issued on the same day and at the end of the class, pending the electronic receipt of the course evaluation.

CE Approval Information: * Psychologists: The American College of Mental Health College is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The American College of Mental Health College maintains responsibility for this program and its content. * Social Workers: The American College of Mental Health College, Provider #1709, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. The American College of Mental Health College maintains responsibility for this course. ACE provider approval period: 05/03/2023-05/03/2026. Social workers completing this course receive 3 Ethics continuing education credits. * Licensed Professionals Counselors: The American College of Mental Health College has been approved by National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP Provider No. 6909, Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. The American College of Mental Health College is solely responsible for all aspects of its programs. * Other Professions: These educational offerings qualify for 6 continuing education hours as required by many national, state, and local licensing boards and professional organizations. Please save your course outline and certificate of completion and contact your board for specific filing requirements.
Refund/Cancellation Policy: Refunds are not available. If you need to cancel and want to receive transfer credit for a future workshop of equal or lesser value, you must make the cancellation more than 72 hours prior to the start date of the workshop. If you cancel less than 72 hours before the workshop, you will only be eligible for a transfer, but you will also be subject to a $75 transfer fee. In the event of a public health emergency (e.g., COVID, RSV, natural disaster, etc.), we will either reschedule the event or offer credit for a future event of the same value.
