About this Event
This training offers a frame for understanding depression in young people, focusing on its varied presentation, moment-to-moment fluctuation, and systemic impact on the individual and their network. We will explore how symptoms manifest, where the depression is most acutely felt and consider the impact. By doing so, we aim to help practitioners understand the adolescent’s lived experience in more depth. The workshop introduces practical skills for working with depressed adolescents within an Early Help context alongside CAMHS. Special attention will be given to the roles taken within the family, network and the adolescent’s internal experience.
