When you become a freelancer, you’re in charge of the jobs you take. Understanding the ins and outs — from marketing yourself on freelance websites to growing your freelance business — is the key to making it work.
AARP Foundation’s free web classes give you the latest information and tools to help you succeed as an online freelancer.
What’s Included
When you register for our free online course, you’ll participate in two live, 90-minute sessions that will teach you how to earn income as an online freelancer. Your registration includes:
· A digital worksheet for planning your personal online success.
· Session One, which includes the context, information, and resources you need to begin your online freelance career.
· Session Two, which explores best practices and other resources for expanding your revenue sources through online freelancing.
AARP Foundation will offer these sessions from 6 to 7:30 p.m. ET on 1/23/2024 and 1/30/2024. The interactive classes will introduce you to the basics of online freelancing and allow you to ask questions in a collaborative learning environment.
At the end of the two-week course, you will:
· Have in-depth knowledge of freelancing and the administrative requirements
· Understand how to get your first client
· Develop your custom plan for success
· Know how to grow your freelancing client list
· Receive one-to-one coaching to go even deeper into your questions and needs as an online freelancer
You’ll also get access to the Work for Yourself@50+ Freelancing Resource Center, featuring plenty of tips along with our Work Finder Tool. Once you register for the workshop, you’ll receive an email with a link to activate your free account.
About the Facilitator
Angela Heath serves as AARP Foundation’s expert facilitator for each online session. She’s an award-winning entrepreneur and speaker and author of the book Do the Hustle Without the Hassle, which teaches people over 50 how to the online gig marketplace.
She’s known for championing older adults and helping her clients transform their thinking from “employee” to “owner and creator.”
