About this Event
Teen program.
Led by Yvonne Ng, Mairéad Filgate, Meredith Kenny, and Janaki Banting with poems by Canadian author, Erin Robinsong; participants will be taken through fun and playful sensory warm-ups as an introduction to the creative process. Connections will be explored between wordplay, improvisation, music and sound activities, storytelling games, reading, writing and group discussion.
Youth in the program will explore and develop their own unique artistic voice, helping to create and shape the workshop. With a focus on building positive relationships, participants build confidence and learn first-hand how the sharing of ideas is used in the creative process and the creation of a new workshop. Offering a window into the world of art-making and an opportunity for self-expression and confidence building and developing your voice; this program promises to be a positive and memorable experience for all.
Volunteer hours will be available for participants who complete a minimum of 3 sessions. Attendance at all 4 sessions strongly encouraged. Please register in-branch or by calling 416-393-7663.
