About this Event
What are you carrying right now that no one has asked about?
This month's Inspiring Films Series brings together a short film, a featured speaker, and an open community conversation to explore the emotional weight women carry, and what it looks like to put it down.
We'll screen Never Leave Your Side, a 20-minute drama inspired by a true story. Set in the 1970s, the film follows two inseparable best friends whose bond is shattered by one impulsive decision. Years later, they face each other, and the truth, for the first time. The film recently won Best Drama at the Atlanta Short Film Festival and was selected as an Official Selection of the London Lift-Off Festival.
Following the screening, author and speaker Brandy Symone will tell her story, talk drawn from her book Soul Snatchers, exploring healing after narcissistic and emotional abuse, reclaiming identity, and how boundaries become a path back to yourself.
The evening will be co-hosted by TaNajah Wallace, multi-disciplinary artist and mental health advocate, and Diamond James, LCSW, LISW-CP, of Breaking Down Stigma, PLLC, who will guide the community discussion.
Resource partners will be on-site to connect you with support, tools, and next steps.
The evening includes:
- A 20-minute award-winning short film
- A featured speaker talk (15 minutes)
- Facilitated community discussion
- Food and drinks for purchase
- On-site resource partners and tabling
Finding Inspiration Foundation produces original short films and facilitated community screenings to reduce mental health stigma and connect people to support.
