Hosted by Lynn P. (USk Asheville) and Edgar M (Usk Greenville)The first week of May is International Urban Sketchers Week! As part of this celebration, we are having additional sketching events - we've chosen the theme Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. Use hashtag: #USkWeek2026 on your IG posts if you post your sketches.
Our second event is a joint event with Urban Sketchers Greenville, on Saturday, May 2nd from 1pm - 3pm at the Western North Carolina Air Museum in Hendersonville. We are expecting a big crowd! This event is a great way to make friends with sketchers from USk Greenville before the Carolinas Sketch Crawl. The museum has a wonderful collection of old planes to sketch. It's also right next door to a small airport, and last time we sketched here, we also went out and sketched a small plane in an open hangar. The museum is free to visit, though they welcome donations.
Matt Andrews will give a talk at the beginning on tips for sketching wheels. WNC Air Museum is a non-profit and was impacted by Hurricane Helene. Last time we went, they mentioned they would love donations of sketches to use to help them sell merch.
Children 14 and under should be accompanied by their parents.
Parking: The WNC air museum has its own parking lot.
