About this Event
In this In Conversation style evening, Alan Rhode will be joined by Marianna Giusti, journalist at Financial Times, for an engaging discussion about the themes, ideas, and inspirations behind his new book, Within. The conversation will be followed by audience Q&A and a book signing.
About the book:
Within is a gripping speculative fiction novel set in a world where humanity has lived underground for twenty generations, told that the sun above is deadly and truth is heresy. When a young man named Boz meets Mozart the Heretic, a mysterious figure with shocking truths, he is drawn into a dangerous journey that will force him to question everything he has ever believed. As he ventures toward the mythical “Land of Without,” he must confront the reality of freedom, sacrifice, love, and justice in a world where every truth comes at a cost.
Within challenges readers with timely questions about curiosity, belief, and whether everything we’ve been told should be trusted.

His new book Within was published on 27 Nov 2025.
