Doors 20:00Music 20:30 - 00:00
Witches Brew is a series of improvised music sessions aiming towards more female, non-binary and gender fluid representation in the improvised music scene of The Netherlands.
The evening begins with an opening set led by a non-male musician; after that, the stage is open to everyone.
Our goal is to create a safe and inclusive space for all to express their musical identity, whilst opening a much-needed conversation about the male-dominated nature of the music scene.
Bring your instruments, voices and friends!

Opening set: Mirtilla
Between baroque and creative improvisation, through plucked and bowed strings, "Mirtilla" is a group difficult to spot and define. Harpsichord and voice interweave fluidly creating madrigalesque echoes and contemporary sonorities. Katerina Orfanoudaki and Sara Guidolin are two young emerging artists in the Northern European scene where they bring their Mediterranean roots through their compositions-improvisations, in an experimental and cathartic adventure. During the opening act of Witches Brew they will create a performative act, raising awareness and questions around the story of the female activist and artist Pippa Bacca.
Sara Guidolin - voice
Katerina Orfanoudaki - harpsichord
Suggested donation of 5€ - all contributions go to the musicians opening the session
