Join queer yoga community to practice rest and reflection as we transition into 2026!
About this Event

You are warmly invited to join Adriana (she/they), Annabel (they/them) and the Queer Yoga Edinburgh Community for our January day retreat.

We will gather to reclaim our divine right to rest, not as a luxury but as a sacred inheritance, creating a space to move with intention to slow down, reflect, and soften into the season.

With the resonant medicine of Tibetan singing bowls and gongs, offered by our special guest Jyoti (she/her), we’ll journey inward, listening for the truths winter carries.

Join us for this cosy winter ritual of rest and connection.

Schedule:

1:30-1:45pm: Opening circle

1:50-2:40pm: Slow flow yoga with Adriana

2:45-3:35pm: Restorative & yoga Nidra with Annabel

3:40-4pm: Reflection: a moment to journal, create a mind map or to let your creativity flow with intention

4-4:30pm: Sound Bath with Jyoti

4:40-5:15pm: Community social time with tea and snacks

5:20-5:30pm: Closing circle

About the Space

The main studio space is on one floor at street-level with one small step up to the front door. There is a seating area to remove shoes, two all-gender bathroom stalls, and a small room to leave bags and coats. The studio will be locked during the retreat day so your belongings are secure; you are welcome to leave the main room any time you need a break.

We will be playing some quiet music through the workshop. We will be lighting the space with dim lighting and small electric candles and there is some natural light coming through the windows. There is frosting on the windows so passers-by can't look in, but you may hear some noises from vehicles or pedestrians outside during our practice.

About the Facilitators

Annabel Winters Kramer (they/them)

I was drawn to a consistent yoga practice as a way to reconnect with my breath and body after long work days at a corporate desk job. In my personal practice I enjoy a blend of intuitive and somatic movement, healing restorative poses, supported by working with my breath. I am guided and inspired by all the teachers around me, past and present.

I'm a strong believer in the benefits of movement and breathwork for every mind and body, and hope to create space in my classes where all identities feel safe to experience these. My teaching aims to inspire students to move intuitively and intentionally, listening to what their minds and bodies need in that moment; that often looks like lots of options to adjust the intensity of your experience, time and space to breathe and add your own movement to a pose, and clear anatomy-based cues.

Adriana Zielinska (she/they)

My journey with yoga and meditation started over 12 years ago and has since transformed my mental and physical health, leading to greater awareness and personal growth. This profound impact inspired me to train as a yoga and meditation teacher, so that I could share these ancient practices for the benefit of all beings.

I have completed 200 hours in Ashtanga and Vinyasa styles and 100 hours Yin Yoga teacher training. I am also a certified meditation instructor with 200 hours of trauma-informed training. You can read more about me It is a great honour to be a part of Queer Yoga, and serve my community here in Edinburgh. My mission is to cultivate spaces of connection, acceptance, and empowerment, where everyone can explore and embrace their unique journey. See You on the Mat!
