About this Event
We’re bringing Wine With Friends back to the table this June featuring Chef Joseph Boudreaux.
This time, we’re drawing inspiration from Houston’s Red Book—
reimagining it through food, wine, and the stories that deserve to be told.
It’s more than dinner.
It’s a moment to gather, reflect, and add to the story.
"Wine With Friends" Not quite a wine tasting, not really a dinner party, but a foundation for collaboration and storytelling through the minds of some of Houston’s brightest talents. A quarterly 4-part series that will engage the palate and energize the spirit. For this edition we're honoring the past of Houston inspired by The Red Book of Houston 1915. A reimagined version where we center the voices domestic workers of the boarding houses, grocers and restaurants.
About our Chef: Raised in Houston with Louisiana roots, Joseph Boudreaux learned to cook from the men in his family, a foundation that stayed with him through college and a corporate career after earning his entrepreneurship degree from the University of Houston. A 2018 layoff became a turning point, leading him to fully pursue his passion for food, music, and gathering—eventually co-founding The Tipping Point Coffee, a hybrid space rooted in community. During the pandemic, he began hosting pop-ups that quickly built a following, with his breakfast sandwiches and burgers gaining traction across the city and earning co-signs from chefs like Dawn Burrell. Those early moments evolved into Boo’s Burgers, now a permanent fixture at The Esplanade at Navigation, where Boudreaux brings together his Creole heritage and the broader foodways of the Black diaspora, all with a focus on creating accessible, community-driven food for Houston’s Second Ward.
