About this Event
WIND STORY EPISODE 2, CLARINET:
A Cross-Channel Conversation
From the shimmering colours of French Impressionism to the gentle warmth of the English pastoral tradition, this programme invites audiences into a richly contrasted sound world for clarinet and piano.
Following the successful launch of Wind Story – Episode 1, Episode 2 continues the journey with performances in both Edinburgh and Glasgow. Expanding on the theme of cross-channel dialogue, this concert explores the musical landscapes of France and Britain through a carefully curated selection of works.
Alongside well-known composers such as Claude Debussy and Gerald Finzi, the programme also highlights the voices of female composers including Sarah Jenkins and Fernande Decruck, offering a broader and more inclusive perspective on the repertoire.
Guided by live introductions from the performers, the concert offers not only a listening experience but also a deeper insight into the stories, styles, and connections that shape this music.
We invites you into an intimate musical conversation—where contrasting traditions meet, and new perspectives emerge across borders and time.
