Wildlife photography with Matthew Williams-Ellis

Get ready for an inspiring in-person experience with Matthew Williams-Ellis, a pro in the wild photography world! Whether you're a newbie or a seasoned shooter, this event is your chance to dive deep into the art of capturing nature’s coolest moments.

Matthew is a wildlife photographer and filmmaker whose work has received numerous awards, including the Travel Photographer of the Year with his short wildlife documentary Karibu Nyumbani.

When Matthew isn’t capturing photographs for his print collection, he loves teaching others, running workshops and wildlife photography holidays to destinations including Tanzania, Kenya, Madagascar, Costa Rica and Antarctica. He also makes regular visits to the Maasai Mara to work as photographer in residence at Alex Walker Serian camps.

Matthew's photography and filmmaking work focuses on story-telling with attention-grabbing, eye-catching, honest visuals. He aims to use dramatic light to convey emotion. Matthew's preference is always to use a shorter lens and photograph from close to his subject, to bring the viewer into their world and create more intimate feeling images.

Matthew uses his work as a tool to support wildlife and conservation efforts, donating a percentage of his print sales to Mara Predator Conservation Programme in the Maasai Mara.

Here at COLCPS, we run a wide variety of photographic events on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. Based close to the Barbican we are easy to access by bus, tube and foot. We have lift access to our room on the first floor.

Both members and non-members are very welcome. We request a donation on the night of £3 for members and £5 for non-members, in cash, card or online transfer.
