About this Event
Themis Youth Law & Advocacy supports children and youth facing serious gaps in protection, particularly in cases involving disrupted adoptions, institutional harm, and legal neglect.
These are situations where outcomes can shift quickly, and where the presence of experienced advocacy can mean the difference between continued harm and safety.
Recent reporting, including an article by The Haitian Times, underscores the urgency of this work, highlighting a Haitian adoptee with disabilities who was moved across multiple countries and confined for years without adequate care or oversight, ultimately seeking freedom. These are not isolated incidents, but part of a broader pattern affecting vulnerable youth across borders.
Themis is actively working to meet this need through legal action, policy efforts, and direct intervention, stepping in where systems have failed and where few others are positioned to respond.
We invite you to join us in Atlanta for an evening to learn more about this work and to connect with others who recognize the importance of responding with both care and intention.
The evening will include a cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres, followed by a short program and opportunities to engage with those committed to advancing meaningful, practical solutions.
This will be an opportunity to:
- Learn what is happening behind the scenes
- Understand where support is most impactful
- Be part of a community committed to real, sustained change
Join us on April 29th at 6:30 PM at the Cathedral of St. Philip to support Themis Youth Law & Advocacy’s work on behalf of vulnerable youth globally.
