PROGRAM:
Karolina Cicha – Live Concert
The evening will begin with a mesmerizing performance by Karolina Cicha, an acclaimed singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist. Known for her ability to play several instruments simultaneously, Karolina’s 'one-woman orchestra' showcases her deep connection to the traditional music of northeastern Poland’s ethnic minorities. With her accordion, keyboard, and drum set, Karolina weaves together a tapestry of sounds that are both deeply rooted in history and strikingly contemporary. Her performances have captivated audiences at world music festivals across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, making her the perfect artist to set the tone for this year’s festival.
Edible Art Installation by Pola Sutryk
At the Official Opening, we’re thrilled to announce that Pola Sutryk, a visionary chef and artist, will unveil her unique edible installation!
Pola’s creations go beyond traditional culinary art, blending foraged ingredients with artisanal techniques. Guests will have the chance to taste and explore the deep connections between food, art, and nature, perfectly aligning with this year’s festival themes.
Based in Reykjavik, Pola draws inspiration from her Eastern Polish roots, promising a sensory journey through a captivating array of flavors and textures. Don’t miss out on this extraordinary experience!
About this year’s edition of the festival
For the sixth time, the We Do Festival of Polish Contemporary Arts & Culture will take place in Norway—this time at Hos Arne and various locations in Oslo!
In 2024, inspired by the works of Magdalena Abakanowicz, we invite you to explore the raw power of textiles as a means of infusing emotion into art. WeDo Festival embraces the theme "Speak Fiberiously", delving into the vibrant world of fibers—both in art and nature—as a medium for bold, physical expression.
