Most modern psychologies accept the idea of a conscious and subconscious mind, though far fewer consider that we also have a superconscious mind, or Higher Self. In this time of ascension, it is important that we learn to connect with the Higher Self.
The superconscious or Higher Self is our Gatekeeper in the Spirit Worlds. The Higher Self is not exclusively male or female for it contains both masculine and feminine qualities and traits. The Higher Self is not God, it is the part of you that is a bridge between you and Source Energy or Gid/Goddess All That Is.
In the ancient shamanic tradition of Huna, from Hawaii the Higher Self is considered a “parental spirit” and a “guardian.” The term in Hawaii for this aspect of self is Aumakua which can be translated as “Source Self,” the God Within. The ancient shamans of Hawaii saw this self as being intimately connected rather than a disembodied spirit living in the heavens.
It is important to connect with the Higher Self because it offers guidance, information, and inspiration. We can consider the Higher Self to be a bridge to higher dimensions. The Higher Self is not there to tell us what to do, rather it can advise on the best course of action in certain circumstances.
The superconscious communicates to us through certain channels that can include direct inspiration. When this happens, there is a sudden knowing, whether that relates to a choice, an action step or simply waiting and trusting. This deep inner knowing can be accompanied by a deep sense of peace, or gentle excitement.
Due to ‘free will’ and the higher cosmic laws your ‘Higher Self’ is not allowed to intervene with your choices. However, once the connection has been made and you have asked for guidance or assistance then the Higher Self can guide and assist you.
