In 1977, Weather Report released “Heavy Weather”, with Joe Zawinul’s iconic “Birdland” opening the set, Wayne Shorter’s lyrical ballad “A Remark You Made,” and Jaco Pastorius redefining what the electric bass could do on “Teen Town”. The record brought jazz to a wider audience without sacrificing its adventurous spirit. Featuring the band’s classic lineup — Zawinul, Shorter, Pastorius, Alex Acuña, and Manolo Badrena — Heavy Weather remains a landmark in jazz history: sophisticated, soulful, and endlessly grooving.
