About the Event
Slide through as we honor the sound that shaped the Town—funk that powered block parties, inspired generations, and traveled the world. Join us for a special Black History Month screening of We Want The Funk, featuring a director introduction before the film and a live Q&A after.
Come early for a community reception with complimentary drinks + bites and a set by DJ D-Sharp. Then settle in for the film and stay for a thoughtful conversation on the music, culture, and legacy that continues to move Oakland and the world.
