About this Event
We Run 313 Book Talk & Community Run
Join us for a joyful in-person gathering to celebrate the book and run club that's reclaiming space for Black runners in Detroit's outdoors with power, pride, and purpose. We Run 313 brings Detroiters of all ages, abilities, and economic backgrounds together, revealing how running in community fosters connection, healing, and physical and mental well-being.
Meet co-founder Lance Woods and fellow book contributors and hear the inspiring journey behind this revolutionary cultural force that Lance and fellow run coach Joe Robinson began in 2019.
Pick up your copy of WeRun313: The Pulse of Detroit's Run Club, published here in the city by WSU Press, that captures the heart and soul behind Detroit’s premier run club—and the movement it sparked. Then lace up for a refreshing community run led by Lance and team - 2 miles or 5K, your pick!
