On Saturday, June 27 from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM, we’re hosting a special volunteer day to help install a donated community gazebo at the garden. This gazebo will create a dedicated space for neighborhood gatherings, learning moments, and community connection—and we’re grateful for volunteers willing to help bring it to life.
Event Location: 5051 Montclair St, Detroit, MI 48213
What volunteers may help with (based on comfort level and ability):
Unloading, staging, and organizing materials
Holding/steadying parts during assembly
Assisting with measuring, aligning, and basic setup support
Site cleanup and final touch-up support
What to wear / bring:
Closed-toe shoes (required)
Work gloves (recommended)
Weather-appropriate clothing you don’t mind getting dirty
Water (and any personal snacks you may need)
What to expect:
This is a hands-on, outdoor work day. Tasks will be assigned with safety in mind and based on volunteer comfort level. You do not need professional construction experience—just a willingness to help, follow instructions, and work as a team.
