Connect with others who value community service as you cheer on nonprofit organizations making a difference in Miami!
Join us at Skatebird on Sunday, Nov. 17, for this nonprofit pep rally and talent showcase, where you’ll:
- Experience engaging live performances by local organizations, including a singalong, a poetry reading, a science presentation and more
- Meet new people and learn more about causes you care about during interactive icebreaker activities and facilitated small-group conversations
- Learn about community service opportunities through “volunteer speed dating”
- Be among the first to donate to organizations making positive change in Miami that are participating in Give Miami Day
We Met in Miami’s signature wristbands will help you make new friends and romantic connections: You’ll wear green if you’re looking for love, blue for friendship, and rainbow for members of the LGBTQIA+ community. (Yes, you can wear more than one!)

This unique community event is designed by We Met in Miami in collaboration with Radical Partners and sponsored by The Miami Foundation.
Here’s what to expect:
5pm Connection challenges. Break the ice with new friends or romantic connections during interactive connection challenges designed by local nonprofits. Featuring poetry writing exercises, connection conversations, mindfulness experiences and more!
6pm Performances. Experience the powerful work of local nonprofits during short, engaging performances, like an audience singalong, a poetry reading and a science show.
7:30pm Small-group conversations. Go deeper, sharing insights and solutions during facilitated small-group conversations on the problems nonprofits are working to solve in Miami.
8:30p “Volunteer speed dating.” Line up to meet representatives from local nonprofits for short conversations about impactful volunteer opportunities.
Venue information:
Skatebird is a skate park! Half of the park will be open for skating during the event.
There are two on-site restaurants at Skatebird: Yeti’s, a pizzeria with a full bar, and Zelda’s Kitchen, a Turkish Mediterranean food truck.
Residential street parking and PayByPhone options are available in the surrounding area.
