We Are Black Journos Community Potluck: A Celebration of Black Flavours

Join We Are Black Journos for a warm, joyful afternoon of food, culture, and community. Our Potluck on Saturday 21 March is a chance to connect with fellow Black journalists and Black media enthusiasts in a relaxed, welcoming space — all through the dishes that tell our stories.

Food has always been a powerful connector across the African and Caribbean diaspora and beyond the many places our ancestors crossed. This event celebrates that legacy. Bring a dish that means something to you — a family recipe, a comfort meal, a cultural classic, or simply something you love to make. Together, we’ll create a shared table full of flavour, memory, and conversation.

Expect:

• A friendly, informal gathering
• A chance to meet and network with other Black journalists and media creatives
• A shared meal celebrating Black flavours from across the diaspora (there will be microwaves to heat up too if needs be! WABJ will also provide all cutlery, serving dishes, plates, and soft drinks!)
• Space to unwind, vibe, and build community

All We Are Black Journos events are exclusively for Black journalists and Black media enthusiasts — whether you’re established, emerging, or simply passionate about storytelling and representation.

• One dish to share (homemade or store-bought — no pressure)
• A label or short description of your dish (optional but helpful)
• Your warmth, your stories, and your appetite

(We will also reach out individually to all who RSVP to ensure we are considering everyone's dietary requirements)

And that's it! The location is a wonderful space justa stone throw from North Greenwich station beside the O2 arena. More details will be sent leading up to the date once you have RSVP'd.
