About this Event
We are thrilled to welcome Eliza Chan, Holly Race & M. H. Ayinde who will be talking about their latest novels and also discussing the wider themes of history, politics and magic in epic fantasy.
Eliza Chan - Harbour of Hungry Ghosts
This is a start of a new duology, set in Hong Kong during British rule and the opium war era.
When the British disrupt the Hungry Ghosts festival and her grandmother is seized by a strange new monster, Kiamling must step up and lead the search. She is aided by unexpected allies: Archie, an earnest civil servant, Hoi gor, her childhood sweetheart turned merchant-pirate and Jingling, her younger sister keeping secrets of her own. Kiamling must figure out who is behind the incursion and more importantly, how to defeat them.
With British fables mingling with local Chinese monsters, this is glorious historical fiction.
Holly Race - Six Wild Crowns
Six Wild Crowns features Henry VIII's wives as you've never seen them before, set in a gorgeous fantasy world with underwater castles, dragons and magic mirrors. A vivid mix of political epic fantasy combined with historical fiction.
M. H. Ayinde - A Song of Legends Lost
