About this Event
Participants will learn the basics of vegetable fermentation and make a creative sauerkraut using often-overlooked vegetable parts such as:
• cauliflower leaves
• broccoli stems
• green leek tops
• and other edible “odd ends” of vegetables
The session will include:
• A short introduction to fermentation and its connection to food waste reduction, gut health, and sustainability
• Hands-on sauerkraut making
• A tasting session of several prepared ferments
• Practical fermentation tips for continuing at home
Participants will also receive:
• A PDF with the recipe made during the workshop plus a few additional recipes to experiment with at home
