About this Event
Join Our Monthly Photo Walk!
For April, our theme is Perspective & Evolution—a reflection on how cities, communities, and people change over time. This month we’ll gather in Atlanta’s historic Sweet Auburn District, once one of the most vibrant centers of Black life, culture, and business in the country. Walking through this neighborhood is like walking through different chapters of the city’s story—where history, resilience, and modern Atlanta all meet.
Sweet Auburn sits just east of downtown Atlanta and remains one of the most historically significant districts in the city. As we explore Auburn & Edgewood Avenue, we’ll reflect on how Atlanta continues to evolve while still carrying the spirit of the communities that built it.
Photographically, our focus will be perspective. We’ll experiment with different angles, distances, and viewpoints to see how shifting perspective can completely change the way a scene feels. From street-level details to wide city views, this walk is about learning to see familiar places in new ways.
Sweet Auburn offers layers of visual storytelling—historic architecture, murals, storefronts, and everyday city life. Together we’ll walk, observe, and capture images that highlight the evolution of Atlanta and the many perspectives that shape the city today.
