Join us during our usual Makers Morning for a special volunteer event aimed at getting us prepped for our Spring Bonfire! Volunteers will take pre-made pie dough (created by staff and students the night before at the "Do It Yourself Hand Pies" class) and assembly them into delectable savory hand pies. Ingredients may include zucchini, onion, mushrooms, garlic, and fresh herbs! We need all hands on deck to make enough hand pies for the Spring Bonfire on May 6th, where we welcome the return of sun and warmth, and hopefully say goodbye to snow and ice for the season.
This fun annual event is a great way to contribute to the community event, and glean some tips and tricks for assembling your own hand pies in the future. All ingredients and equipment will be provided by the Ely Folk School (including aprons) so just show up to help out.
Volunteer hours will be recorded by participants, and may be redeemed for tuition credit or ceramics studio membership. Three hours of volunteer credit are equal to one hour of tuition credit.
