Join us for our March Assembly on Sunday, March 8 at 11am as we explore Voices & Values: Resisting Economic Inequality.Los Angeles is a city of enormous opportunity, but it is also a place where many people struggle to make ends meet. This month we will look at how communities across our city are raising their voices and organizing for a more just economy. Reverend Matt Wait of Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice will introduce us to the work of CLUE, an interfaith organization committed to nonviolent action and economic fairness. We will also hear about some of the real challenges Angelenos are facing today and learn about ways people are getting involved in shaping the future of our city as we move toward the 2028 Olympic Games.
Music this month will be led by Fletch Crossman, and as always we will gather for song, reflection, and the kind of community conversation that reminds us we are not alone in caring about the world around us.
A quick logistical note. Daylight Saving Time begins this Sunday, so don’t forget to spring forward and set your clocks ahead Saturday night. The LA Marathon is also happening that morning, which means traffic and street closures around the city. Please give yourself a little extra travel time if you are coming in person.
We can also always use a few extra hands setting up the space. If the marathon has you arriving early anyway, feel free to come a bit before 11am and help us get things ready.
We know that in these times it can feel uneasy to leave the house, especially with the recent ICE murders and unsettling headlines that have many of us on edge. Your safety and comfort matter to us, and we want everyone who wants to be part of this gathering to be able to take part in whatever way feels right for them. That’s why we’re also live streaming this Assembly on Zoom so you can join the conversation, reflect together, and be part of our community from wherever you feel safest.
We hope this helps you stay connected, whether you’re here in person or tuning in from home. As always, all are welcome.
