About this Event
Black Women for Wellness if hosting a fashion show! True Indigo: Planting Black Resistance in Fashion.
The life cycle of plastics causes harm to our health and environment, especially Black women who are overexposed to plastics through the beauty industry. The fashion sector is filled with plastic-based clothing materials and synthetic dyes filled with toxic chemicals. At Black Women for Wellness we are advocating for cleaner and sustainable fashion that uplifts the beauty of Black people without introducing more plastics to their lives. Join Black Women for Wellness for our fashion show catered in the rich history of sustainable fashion that is rooted in afro-indigenous practices of indigo textile dyeing and fashion.
This event is free and open to the community. If you’re able, please consider making a donation to help support the production and make events like this possible.
