About this Event
Join us for Vocal Point’s First Open House, a special opportunity to step inside the heart of our organization and learn how we bring stories, news, and print materials to life through audio.
Vocal Point is proud to be the home of the Georgia Radio Reading Service — a nonprofit broadcast service dedicated to serving individuals who are blind, visually impaired, or print-disabled by providing accessible audio programming. Our volunteers help transform newspapers, magazines, books, and community information into meaningful listening experiences for thousands across Georgia.
During our Open House, guests will get a behind-the-scenes look at how our broadcasts are created, meet our staff and volunteers, and learn how YOU can get involved. You’ll experience live demos, have time for Q&A with staff, enjoy light refreshments, and discover the many ways Vocal Point supports our community through voice and storytelling.
This event is perfect for:
• Teens seeking volunteer hours or community service opportunities
• College students interested in broadcasting, communications, media, journalism, voice acting, or nonprofit work
• Aspiring voice actors and creatives
• Community members looking to give back in a meaningful way
• Anyone curious about accessible media and advocacy
We offer a variety of volunteer and learning opportunities, including:
• Recording print materials for broadcast
• Social media and digital content support
