Vintage Ties LIVE at Monday Night Swing!

We are so pleased to announce local Austin area band, The Vintage Ties, will be performing at Monday Night Swing! Vintage Ties Jazz Band plays upbeat, authentic vintage jazz, influenced by musicians from the 1930’s such as Benny Goodman, Billie Holiday, Charlie Christian, and Ella Fitzgerald.
Come join us each Monday night in October at the Firefighters Banquet Hall. Each week will start with classes that brush up and build on as the month proceeds. Please arrive early, classes will begin promptly at 7pm.
🕺 OCTOBER DANCE LESSONS:

INTRO TO SWING
𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬: Leslie & Ellie
𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: This 6-count dance is where it all starts! This class is available every Monday night. East Coast 1 is perfect if you are new to swing dancing and want to begin your dance journey. This class will cover the main fundamentals of swing dancing such as basic posture, pulsing, weight transferring & core engagement.

BALBOA
𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬: Ed & Andrea
𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Different to East Coast swing, this course is still a beginner course to another variation of swing dance. As a branch of Swing it bears certain similarities to the Lindy Hop and Charleston, however its close connection between partners, and small defined footwork to faster paced songs distinguishes this dance as the most elegant and sophisticated of the partnered Swing dances.

CHARLESTON
𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫: Thomas & Ale
𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Continue leaning and get your kicks with this fast paced variation dance! Originally a solo dance, can be added to partnered dance, east coast swing, and lindyhop! Ideal for fast songs and upbeat tempos.

NOTE: While these classes are available each week, please know that it takes personal commitment to improve your dancing. This may include self-practice, group practices, or private lessons with instructors. Growth requires pushing your limits & testing your potential. Dance is no exception to this rule. Each of our instructors began at the exact same place as you did!

🧭 LOCATION:
The San Antonio Fire Fighter's Banquet Hall is located on the access road of West I-10 right next to the ramp that leads down from Medical Drive on the right side.
🚗 PARKING:
The SAFFBH parking can fit up to 100 vehicles. The parking lot is directly outside of the building on the left side. There is also additional parking on the right side.

🍺 𝐁.𝐘.𝐎.𝐁.
We have been given permission from the SA Firefighters Association to allow our guests to bring their own alcoholic beverages. Water bottles & sodas will remain for sale.

NOTE: We have the right to deny entry or to escort guests out of the premises if we feel they are above the legal intoxication limit, are disturbing the peace, or are attempting to serve alcohol to minors. Keep in mind that this is an all-ages event and while we allow adults to bring their own beverages we must remind everyone to be responsible and follow the law.
