Vietnamese Heritage Speaker Conversation Circle (Intermediate)

Many Vietnamese Americans reach a point in their language journey where they can navigate daily "home" conversation but struggle to express complex ideas, understand formal nuances, or dive deep into cultural history. This conversation circle is designed to bridge that gap in a low-pressure, community-focused environment.

Hosted by Nguyễn Huyến, a heritage speaker who honed their fluency living in Saigon, these sessions offer a unique blend of linguistic passion and lived experience.

This circle is specifically curated for intermediate heritage speakers who have already completed our Level 2 Vietnamese Language course or have a solid foundation from home. Participants are able to hold basic conversations but want to express more complex concepts.

Nguyễn Huyến is a second-generation Vietnamese American who recently moved to the Seattle area. Huyến is now mostly fluent in Vietnamese, partly due to his upbringing and having lived in Saigon as an adult for a period. Huyến is dedicated to helping others in the diaspora reclaim their language to better connect with family and heritage.
