EXPERIENCE A PHOTOBASHING DEMO
Photobashing is a digital art technique that blends various photographic and digital elements into a stunning, often realistic, artwork. In a demo led by VFS Animation instructors, learn the techniques of gathering reference photos and stitching them together in Photoshop as the base foundation of realistic and exciting digital paintings.
DISCOVER HOW WEBTOONS ARE REVOLUTIONIZING THE COMIC BOOK INDUSTRY
Webtoons – digital graphic novels & comics available exclusively in a vertical format on computers/smartphones – are quickly rising in popularity. Learn how Webtoons & Clip Studio Paint will soon be added to VFS’s curriculum and how the Animation Concept Art program can kickstart your career illustrating for webcomics.
INDUSTRY TALK: DEMYSTIFYING GENERATIVE AI
In an Industry Talk led by Colin Giles, you’ll discover the role of AI as a tool for ideation and iteration, its potential pitfalls and limitations, and how VFS integrates this technology into its School of Animation curriculum.
YOUR PERSONAL PORTFOLIO REVIEW
The VFS Animation department is looking forward to reviewing your work – anything from napkin doodles to sketches, models, videos and beyond – that illustrates your passion for the craft of animation. This is your chance to see if you meet the prerequisites for our Animation Concept Art program.
MEET THE HEAD OF VFS’S SCHOOL OF ANIMATION
Meet Colin Giles – Animator, Director, and Head of VFS’s School of Animation – with credits including Sausage Party, Eight Crazy Nights, and commercial content for Cartoon Network, Ford, the NBA, and Starbucks. Discover how Colin has created award-winning curriculum for VFS’s School of Animation through production-based & collaborative training models.
