Description: The Community Action for Veterans Conference is a two-day professional development event designed to empower service providers to better support military families and veterans, especially in rural communities. This conference will bring together social workers, healthcare providers, educators, and nonprofit leaders to share best practices, build collaborative networks, and enhance access to vital resources for military-connected people.
In addition, the conference will feature a VA 1-on-1: Veterans Assistance Expo, where VA staff, veteran service organizations, community service providers, and government partners will offer direct services, resources, and information.
LEARNING TRACKS
Mental Health: Share ways to support the mental health of military-connected people, including service members, veterans, families, and caregivers.
Rural Challenges: Provide solutions to improve healthcare, social support, and resources for military-connected people in rural areas.
Caregiving and Military Family Life: Increase understanding of how military life impacts families and explore support systems for caregivers and loved ones.
