Eins og Íslendingasögurnar sýna fram á hafa konur ferðast til Íslands og sest þar að í meira en 1000 ár. Verkefnið Vendipunktar segir sögur nokkurra þeirra, allt frá Melkorku og Helgu til dagsins í dag. Við bjóðum ykkur að koma og heyra sögurnar þriðjudaginn 3. mars kl. 16–18, í fyrirlestrasal Eddu (Arngrímsgötu 5, 1. hæð). Sagnastundin verður fjölbreytt því að notast er við bæði margmiðlun og lifandi flutning.
Það er okkur mikill heiður að Þórunn Sveinbjarnardóttir forseti Alþingis skuli hafa tekið að sér að setja viðburðinn.
Að sögustund lokinni verður efnt til almennrar umræðu um sögurnar í anda þátttökulýðræðis þar sem spurt er: Hvað ber framtíðin í skauti sér fyrir þær konur sem koma til Íslands í leit að öryggi, friði og betra lífi?
Verkefnið hefur hlotið styrk frá Borgarsjóði en það er einnig hluti af rannsóknarverkefni hjá Rannís sem nefnist Kvennaspor: Afhjúpun og ljómun kvenna í sagnalandslagi Íslands.

As the Icelandic sagas show us, women have travelled to make Iceland their home for over 1000 years. Vendipunktar tells the stories of some of them – from Melkorka and Helga, to the present day.
We invite you to join us to share these stories through a mix of spoken word and film on Tuesday March 3rd, from 4–6pm, in the lecture hall in Edda (on the ground floor, Arngrímsgata 5, 107 Reykjavík).
We are honoured that Þórunn Sveinbjarnardóttir, the Speaker of Alþingi, will open the event.
After the performance, we will have an open conversation about what we’ve heard, in a participatory democratic process that asks: What does the future hold for women who make journeys here – for safety, peace and a better life?
