We are collecting gently used books for resale at a low cost to help raise money for the Lincoln High School Newspaper, The Statesman.
The Statesman has received a Superior Newspaper award from the South Dakota Activities Association since 2016. In 2022, 2024, 2025, 2026 the Statesman also received the Crown Award from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association from Columbia University.
The funds for this sale will help the Statesman with printing and the website costs, along with other equipment that helps the group develop their publication. Also, the students attend local and national conventions to increase their knowledge of new journalism trends.
By donating used books, we are promoting literacy and education and helping reduce waste.
Books that we accept may come from all genres (fiction, non-fiction, mysteries, Western, romance) and puzzles!
Please do not donate baby books, textbooks, dictionaries, encyclopedias, magazines and Reader Digests.
The book sale will take place on May 29th from 4-7PM and May 30th from 8-12PM.
Books ca be dropped off at Lincoln High School at the front administrative doors. We will take books month until May 9th.
