About this Event
Artists know how to collect materials in unlikely places. It isn't just thrifty or eco-friendly, reusing unwanted materials is a creative challenge. In this workshop, we will talk about ways to reuse materials, from unlikely material ideas, local spots to scour and how to incorporate found materials into new work that doesn't result in a pile of junk. Inspired by a fellow collage artist who hesitates to throw away anything, source materials will be provided in the form of a giant bin of scrap generated by many hours prepping for collage classes (affectionately referred to as the Collage Claw Machine).
Students are encouraged to bring one work of their own that is unwanted, finished or not, that will be exchanged with another student. This may be a collage, drawing, painting or print.
All supplies are provided, however you are welcome to bring your favorite collage tools!
