Authors Nora Nickum, Laura Ann Thompson, and Leslie Barnard Booth present STEM-themed picture books to delight & inform the whole family.
About this Event

Join three children’s book authors for a fun, interactive, STEM-themed storytime extravaganza! We’ll be joined by Nora Nickum (author of This Book is Full of Holes), Laurie Ann Thompson (author of You Are a Robin!) and Leslie Barnard Booth (author of One Day This Tree Will Fall). Enjoy read-alouds and a puppet show, try acting like a robin, and discover intriguing holes all around you!

This event is free to attend, though registration is required through the link provided. We encourage all attendees to wear masks during the event and maintain social distancing. If you have questions about this event, please contact us at [email protected]. Thank you for supporting your local independent bookstore!

Nora Nickum leads conservation policy work for the Seattle Aquarium and writes books for children about STEM and nature topics. Her books include Superpod: Saving the Endangered Orcas of the Pacific Northwest and new release This Book Is Full of Holes: From Underground to Outer Space and Everywhere In Between, both Junior Library Guild Gold Standard selections.

Laurie Ann Thompson grew up in the fields and forests of northern Wisconsin and now lives between the mountains and the sea in Washington State. A volunteer naturalist, climate advocate, and former software engineer, she writes to help her readers (and herself) better understand the world we all share and help make it a better place for all.

Leslie Barnard Booth writes lyrical picture books about science and nature. She is the author of A Stone Is a Story, a Kids' Indie Next pick, Blueberry Honor Book, and NSTA Outstanding Science Trade Book. Leslie lives in Portland, Oregon, and loves exploring the natural world with her family.
