24th January, 5th Shabaan.The Holy Urs Sharif of Gausul Azam Sheikh Sayeed Ahmadullah Al Hasani Al Maizbhandari.
On this day we should pray numerous nawafil and as per the command of Our Sheikh, pray Qiyamull Layl.
He instructed his sons and students to not only pray the obligatory prayers but also to focus on Qiyamull Layl.
He is the Sheikh Ut Tariqa of the Maizbhandari Order through whom and his nephew the Great disseminator of the Tariqa Sayeed a Golamurrahman Al Hasani Al Maizbhandar the Message of Maizbhandari Qadiri Order was delivered all across the Subcontinent.
In his formative years he studied in fiqh and memorisation of Hadith. He eventually graduated as a hadith scholar in greater India in the 1800s. After which he voluntarily worked as a Haqim (Judge) while working he encountered his Sheikh, Saleh Lahori. Ever since taking the Bayyah (oath of allegiance) to his Sheikh, he felt emptiness in his work. He did not enjoy condemning people for the crimes, so at one he resigned. Sayeed Ahmadullah returned to the village of his birth, Maizbhandar.
So began his life of preaching the teachings of his Sheikh, Ilm u Tassawwuf. While teaching he attracted people of all faiths who came to him for they saw the transcendence of love beyond all other elements.
After couple of years, his nephew, Sayeed Gollamur Rahman, was born. As Sayeed Ahmadullah was the eldest of the family, his younger brother brought the child to Sayeed Ahmadullah who, upon witnessing him, remarked, ‘He is the reflection of Yusuf (AS)’.
Him and his nephew shared a bond from the outset. Sayeed Ahmadullah had one son who passed away during his lifetime.
Upon reaching adulthood, Sayeed Golamurrahman demonstrated untapped power and potential. Sayeed Ahmadullah then sent him on a period of Khalwa(religious solitude )after bestowing upon him Bayat Al Khaas(oath of allegiance and bestowing of succession).
Upon his returnfrom solitude, Sayeed Ahmadullah announced him as his successor and commanded his followers to seek his guidance.
Thus the legacy of Sayeed Ahmadullah was spread across the country through Sayeed Golamurrahman Maizbhandari.
Let us remember their efforts to disseminate the message of the Prophet (Sallalahu Alaihi Wa Alihi Wassallam) throughout the subcontinent. Through constant remembrance of Allah and the practice of Sadaqatun Jariyah.
May Allah the Almighty guide us to walk the path of the Mohsineen whom he guided in the right path.
