About this Event
This year, love leads the way. As we celebrate 28 years of urban university, we begin by showing our love in action for single mothers—the heart of our work and the strength of our communities. As the nation marks the 30th anniversary of welfare reform, urban university is intentionally offering a counter-narrative. Single mothers are not the problem. They are our North Star—pillars of love, resilience, leadership, and care who hold families and neighborhoods together every day.
Join us for an evening rooted in positivity, joy, and community, where we celebrate the power of love to restore dignity, shift narratives, and build futures.
What to Expect:
Honoring our recent graduates
Honoring U.U. alumnae
Raffle prizes organized by our single-mom leadership team
Spades games & friendly competition
Bites and a champagne toast
Music, laughter, and meaningful connection.
Whether you’ve been part of our journey for years or are just getting to know us, this evening is an invitation to come closer—to the mission, to the stories, and to the love that sustains us all.
Free and open to the community!
