We're thrilled to announce a 6-week progressive intermediate Urban Bachata course, infused with traditional flavor. Our goal is to refine your dance technique, boost your musical creativity, and develop your footwork to truly elevate your flow on the dance floor.

Each class will feature footwork drills, dynamic partnerwork, and musicality training, building weekly from foundational intermediate skills to expressive combinations and improvisation.

The full 6-week course is $100, or you can drop in for $25 per class.

Meet Your Instructors:

Isaac Hawkins is a Tampa-based Bachatero originally from Los Angeles, California. His journey into dance is a unique one. As a somewhat shy kid, he avoided dancing in public for most of his life. That changed during his college years when he joined the Latin Dance Club at his alma mater, the University of South Florida. Starting with salsa, Isaac dedicated a year to training before making his performance debut. Though that first show was far from perfect, it sparked a lifelong passion for dance.

Isaac’s love for the art truly flourished under the mentorship of the renowned dancer Paulo Monteiro, known as “El Monstro.” Over the course of five years, he trained, practiced, and performed with El Monstro Dance Company, eventually earning the role of Assistant Director. Isaac is known for his creativity, musicality, and precise technique, all paired with a light-hearted energy that makes him approachable and fun to dance with. When he's on the dance floor, you can guarantee his partner smiling from ear to ear.

Albina has been dancing since the age of 7, bringing a rich background in movement, artistry, and musicality. Over the years, she has gained extensive experience across a variety of dance styles. She trained and competed professionally in ballroom dance for 8 years, earning 4th place in the Open Russian Championship among 400 couples and 2nd place in the Copenhagen National Competition out of 200 couples. Albina has been a finalist in numerous international competitions across Europe, including in Germany and Denmark.

After her ballroom career, she explored contemporary and hip-hop before immersing herself in the world of Latin dance. While living in the Dominican Republic, she developed a deep appreciation for bachata. She has been training in bachata and salsa for 6 years now, learning from numerous instructors at congresses, workshops, and academies across the U.S. She has performed and competed with a bachata team across the States and also had the chance to teach at LDC, a Latin dance club at USF. Albina is now excited to bring her experience and passion to Dance Factory, where she co-teaches an urban bachata course with a touch of traditional flavor alongside Isaac.
