In this three-part workshop series, you'll learn how to transform pre-owned clothing into a custom upcycled vest, guided by Studio Dialectica's founder and fashion educator, Arushi. Whether you're new to sewing or looking to deepen your garment construction skills, this workshop is all about creativity, sustainability, and learning by doing.

Over the course of three thursdays, you will: ๐Ÿงท Take your own body measurements ๐Ÿ“ Draft a vest pattern from scratch ๐ŸŽจ Design your vest using materials you bring (or use ours) โœ‚๏ธ Cut your fabric and begin constructing your piece

Youโ€™ll leave with a one-of-a-kind upcycled vest that fits you and reflects your personal style, plus the skills to tackle small sewing projects at home!

What to Bring:

  • 3 to 5 heavyweight garments to upcycle (think jeans, thick shirts, jackets, workwear, etc.)
  • A notebook and pencil for sketching + notes

What We Provide:

  • Sewing machines
  • Thread, fabric scissors, pins, rulers etc.
  • Scrap fabric
  • Previously owned garments (for an additional fee)
  • Guidance and instruction from an experienced designer and educator

This workshop is a great opportunity to breathe new life into your closet while learning practical skills rooted in circular fashion. Come with your ideas, leave with something truly unique.
