About Unite The People Youth Group:

Unite The People (UTP) Youth Group is run by Holly and Lauren, two 24 year olds, seeking to create community and collectively organise for unity, justice and change. We want to hear young people’s voices by inviting 18-30 year olds to take part in the youth sessions.

We are in the beginning stages of establishing this community, so new members can get as involved as they want to in helping us to shape and direct the group.

People coming together to connect, share, and build a city-wide, anti-racist movement.

Young People’s Experiences of Racism in Birmingham & beyond:

The rise of racism over the last year is having far-reaching impacts on the lives of young people - through lived experiences, in our communities, and online. If you’ve been looking for an outlet or somewhere to direct your energy, our goal is to provide that space. As the most ethnically diverse city in the country, we feel Birmingham deserves a place for people to unite and become a world-leading anti-racism city.

Unite The People (UTP)

The youth group is a subsection of Unite The People Birmingham.

Unite The People is a city-wide cultural movement for justice, peace and a future beyond racism. The experiences, voices and energy of young people are central to building unity against racism and securing brighter futures.

We want to support young people’s leadership by inviting 18-30 year olds to take part, create spaces to connect, share experiences and organise collectively.

Come, share your realities, build solidarity, and make new allies in the ongoing fight against racism targeting our communities and neighbourhoods.

Thanks to Gary Younge and colleagues, supported by funding from the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, for enabling the Unite the People check-ins at the BRIG (Birmingham Race Impact Group) café.
