Women in Tech Meet‑Up – Millennium Point | 8th June 2026
About this Event

In 2025, we successfully delivered a Women in Tech event in partnership with Aston University and the Reed Women in Technology Network. The event brought together members of the network alongside students, academic staff, suppliers, and industry professionals from across the technology sector.

The response to the event was overwhelmingly positive. Feedback from attendees, suppliers, and sponsors highlighted the strong impact of the discussions and the value of creating a shared space for connection, learning, and collaboration. It was only after the event that the true scale of its impact became clear.

Looking Ahead to 2026

Building on this success, the aim for 2026 is to establish the Women in Tech Meetup as an annual event. This year, the focus will be on expanding the conversation by applying the lessons learned from the previous event and addressing additional challenges faced by women in the technology industry.

While the 2025 event explored historical barriers and challenges, the theme for 2026 will be “Looking to the Future.” And “inspiring the next generation”. The event will focus on forward-thinking solutions, innovation, and shared responsibility across the industry.

Proposed Focus Areas and Themes

The 2026 event will include discussions and speakers covering the following areas:

  • Female entrepreneurs and founders sharing their experiences and insights
  • Artificial intelligence, innovation, and emerging technologies – Panel discussion which is likely to include Microsoft
  • Contributors to the Love Lace Report and BCS Gender Diversity report discussing key findings and outcomes
  • The role of organisations and individuals in creating diverse and inclusive workplaces
  • Women in Leadership – Elevate Women in Technology
  • Cisco – Student Tech pilot scheme
  • Pathways into technology careers and roles
  • Showcasing technology in the stallholder area from our key sponsors (Lenovo, Trust Marque, GETECH, Microsoft, BCS and more
