About this Event
Did you know PG&E’s electricity rates have gone up by 41% in the last three years? You’re probably noticed your bills are getting higher: now come learn why rates are going up, how PG&E calculates your bill, and what exactly you’re paying for.
At this workshop, we’ll break down your energy bill so you can be empowered as an energy consumer.
- We’ll go through sample energy bills line by line and explain how PG&E sets prices and charges consumers. We’ll talk about the policies behind energy prices, and explain how this system came to be.
- Did you know you’re auto-enrolled with a nonprofit energy supplier called Ava Community Energy? We’ll explain what Ava does and how you can take advantage of their community programs.
- We’ll share our experiences with PG&E, and brainstorm what a fairer alternative to our energy system could look like.
