Originally from southern California, Jamie Fox has served as "an unflappable melodist" (NY Times) of the guitar in concert and on television around the world. He has played at the famed Montreaux Jazz Festival and was a semifinalist in the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition in 1995. He has worked with artists as diverse as Brother Jack Mc Duff, Dr. John, Ernie Watts, Gene Harris, Tiger Okoshi, Carla Thomas, Otis Clay and The Shirelles. He played guitar and served as Musical Director for the Joan Baez World Tour (1989-1991), filming a popular PBS television special with Baez and Jackson Browne. He was lead guitarist for Blood, Sweat, & Tears (1998-2000), touring the USA and Canada. In addition to performing his own music and in various NYC ensembles, Jamie records and tours with singer Jen Chapin and with Stephan Crump's Rosetta Trio.

Jamie’s 2007 release "When I Get Home", was praised by critics, including “All About Jazz” which noted: “There's a sense of the storyteller who captivates his audience with interesting anecdotes and thoughtful tales, centered around exquisitely performed music”. His latest CD release is “I Wish”, a trio recording of mostly original tunes. In addition to his latest release, “I Wish” Jamie is featured on recent recordings by Stephan Crump’s Rosetta Trio (“Outliers”), Jen Chapin (“Desert or Sea”) and Ed Reed (“I’m A Shy Guy”).
